My relationships have been a shit show

Let me tell you, for most of my life my romantic relationships have been a sh*t show.

10 years of awful dating stories.

(One guy came up to me outside the train station and the first thing I said was “sorry, I don’t have any money.” To which he replied, “I’m Dan, your date. GAAAD... So embarrassing)

Those relationships that are SUPER INTENSE and you’re obsessed with them for like 3 months then they fizzle to nothing (what ARE those about??).

Travel romances, work romances, long distance romances, old romances, young romances.

I met a guy in a Facebook group in like 2005 and travelled all the way to America to stay with him for two weeks. having never seen him in my life before.

I met a guy at a club, he thought I was 25, I thought he was 25, turns out I was 30 and he was 19 but... WHATEVER LOVE CONQUERS ALL! We dated for 6 months. Some of the best months of my life.

Ok ok... I know... I’m always on the hunt for a good story, a tasty experience... it’s my thing.

That notwithstanding, I was searching.

Searching.

Searching.

Searching.

And now I look back and I realise how much I was future tripping. Missing the moment, every time.

Now I look back and I’m like DAMN those were some good times.

New basement bars in London with soft gazes and new electric touches.

Kissing on beaches in Brazil.

Cuddles halfway to Mount Everest in Nepal.

And now that I’m married, also good times.

When will we stop the hunt? It’s here and now. 

Everything we want, everything that we look back on and say, “wow, what a story, those times were something else.” Are happening NOW. 

We’re creating our memories to reminisce on.

It makes me think, I was so in a hurry to “find the one,” but then I loved the process of failing and for 10 years very much NOT finding him.

So, spose what I’m saying is... be mindful of rushing yourself to £5k, £50k, £100k, £1m as you create your business
