I’ve noticed that I’ve felt some inner resistance to full blown activist mode, maybe some of you feel similarly. It kind of feels like a resistance to doing it and a resistance to not doing it.
What IS that? This limbo. Tension.

When I dug deeper, I realised that I have unconscious resistance to activism because I have an unfounded fear that it will pull me away from Spirit and deeper into duality.
I could feel my soul laughing kindly at me as I felt that dawning, like “only your ego would tell you that you can only have either Spirit/Soul OR activism. You get to have both.”
I must admit this idea breaks my mind a little bit, but I welcome it in, something very limiting is clearly going on.
When I dropped into the Akasha around this, here’s what I received:
You are fundamentally misunderstanding Activism.
If you look at the dictionary definition of Activism it says: “the policy or action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political and social change”.
At what point in this does it mention – or even suggest – that you are moving away from your core, away from your Truth? It is only your ego that would tell you this.
Your ego wants you to stay away from perceived dangerous situations and most of those “dangerous situations” involve CHANGE, which is THE worst threat of all for the ego.
Activism is nothing more than influence in response to the world around you.
Influence is a part of your nature as you are effecting influence at all moments of all days, even when you are not actively “intending” (hence the term “silence is violence,” for in not acting you are still exerting influence).
In many ways activism will INCREASE the connection that you feel with Spirit because you:
a) Value the lives and wellbeing of the collective MORE than your own individual experience of reality, and
b) In fighting for equality (whether it be for women’s rights, black rights, LGBTQ rights and so on) you are effectively saying I WORK ON BEHALF OF THE WHOLE.
You are not wrong here Jennifer, you are only afraid.
As you know by now, fear only restricts expansion, and expansion is who you are.
Activism is just as sacred as any other method of behaving/being whose intention is journeying closer to wholeness over separation.
As long as you learn to approach activism with love and compassion it will be as rewarding as any other spiritual practise (for all spiritual practises that lead you closer to each other and God are worthy in the eyes of our Creator).
